An exceptional vintage Vacheron Constantin Phidias, crafted in solid 18K yellow gold and finished with an extraordinary pavé-set diamond dial and diamond-set bezel.
Dating to approximately the early 1990s, the Phidias represents an important chapter in Vacheron Constantin’s integrated-bracelet watch designs. The sculptural 18K yellow gold bracelet flows directly into the case, alternating brushed and polished surfaces for a beautifully architectural look.
The dial is the star: completely pavé-set with diamonds beneath minimalist black hands, surrounded by an additional row of round brilliant-cut diamonds along the bezel. The result sits somewhere between fine Swiss watchmaking and high jewelry.
The caseback is signed Vacheron Constantin – PHIDIAS – No. 876, with case/serial number 610915, water-resistant designation and Swiss precious-metal hallmarks. The bracelet is additionally hallmarked for 18K/750 gold and finished with a concealed folding deployant clasp.
Details: Vacheron Constantin Phidias; circa 1990–early 1990s; solid 18K yellow gold case and integrated bracelet; pavé diamond dial; diamond-set bezel; black hands; Swiss quartz movement (assuming yours is quartz—I would confirm before publishing); No. 876; case/serial 610915; concealed deployant clasp; Swiss 750/18K hallmarks.
Comparable period Phidias watches confirm Vacheron produced diamond-set 18K examples in both ladies’ quartz and larger automatic versions. A circa-1990 ladies’ example documented by Christie’s has an extremely close case number, 610860, which is why I’m comfortable describing yours as approximately circa 1990 rather than simply “vintage.”
